OzChild Breathes New Life into Beloved Local Site in Warrnambool

In the heart of Warrnambool, nestled on the corner of Liebig Street and Raglan Parade, stands a testament to the city’s rich history and enduring community spirit. For over a century, this iconic building has witnessed the ebb and flow of life, serving as a beacon of healing and hope for generations. From its humble origins as the medical clinic of Dr. Horace Holmes in the early 1900s to its recent transformation by OzChild, this historic landmark has undergone a remarkable journey of reinvention and renewal. The once-dormant clinic has been reborn, with the halls now buzzing with the promise of new beginnings and brighter futures.

Every corner tells a story of meticulous restoration and thoughtful innovation. From the preserved fireplace surrounds to the ornate cornices adorning the ceilings, every detail pays homage to the building’s rich past while embracing the needs of the present. The integration of sound-proof mediation rooms, counselling spaces and children’s play therapy areas reflect our commitment to providing comprehensive support services tailored to the diverse needs of families in the region.

The relocation of our Warrnambool office to this historic site marks a significant milestone in our mission to serve the community. By expanding facilities and enhancing resources, we are poised to meet the growing demand for our services, offering a lifeline to families navigating the complexities of separation and transition. The addition of a dedicated kitchen and outdoor play area further underscores OzChild’s commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive “homely” environment for families in need.

“We are delighted to have moved into this cherished and charming historic old home. OzChild has been supporting families in the region since 2012, although our services are still largely undiscovered by many in the area. We hope our prominent new location will make it easier for those in search of post-separation support to access the assistance they need,” Dr Lisa J. Griffiths, Chief Executive Officer, OzChild.

As Warrnambool prepares to embrace this new chapter in its storied history, OzChild invites the community to join in celebrating the transformation of this iconic landmark. An open day is planned to offer the public a firsthand glimpse into the revitalised space and the array of services it offers.

In breathing new life into Warrnambool’s historic clinic, OzChild offers a future where every family has the support and resources they need to build a brighter tomorrow. Warrnambool News has featured our new building on their website; you can view that here.
