Brighter Tomorrows Fund

OzChild’s Brighter Tomorrows Fund was established in 2021 to enable brighter tomorrows for those in our care.

The statement “May the children of today lead us to a brighter tomorrow” underpins OzChild’s work, delivering evidence-based programs and services to strengthen families and enabling children and young people in care to thrive in safe and nurturing homes.

To help fulfil this goal, OzChild’s Brighter Tomorrows Fund (BTF) was established in 2021 to enable brighter tomorrows for those in our care.

Tackling today’s challenges and planning for tomorrow’s

To mark how far OzChild has come since 1851, and to underpin where we go next, OzChild established the BTF in our 170^th year. The BTF is designed to tackle both immediate challenges and help plan for the future through two channels:

Immediate relief: offering grants to children and young people in our care with practical support not otherwise funded, while simultaneously enhancing the efficacy of our current programs.
Innovation, research and development: providing funds to stimulate thinking, research evidence-based models and develop and refine new and better approaches to Australia’s child welfare challenges.

The ratio between immediate relief grants and innovation and R&D expenditure from the BTF will be approximately 20:80, with grants applications reviewed by our Executive Leadership Team, and innovation and R&D decisions reviewed by the OzChild Board.

You can help build Brighter Tomorrows

Our supporters can help the BTF grow in two ways. Firstly, any unspecified bequest made to OzChild is allocated to the BTF. For more details on leaving a gift in your Will to OzChild, please go here.

Secondly, anyone can donate directly into the BTF. To do so, please click on the Donate button. Against “reason for donation”, simply write “Brighter Tomorrows Fund”. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
