Chance to Shine Scholarship
The Chance to Shine Scholarship provides support to children and young people who need it most.
The purpose of the Chance to Shine Scholarship is to provide individual funding opportunities for OzChild children and young people aged 5-18 years who are experiencing challenges and/or disadvantage which impact their education and/or participation in artistic, sporting, cultural or community activities.
With the Coronavirus crisis affecting many Australian households, at-risk children and young people have become increasingly vulnerable. With the help of the Chance to Shine Scholarship, much needed financial support will now be available to those students who need it most.
Thanks to the support of our philanthropic partners, OzChild can support children and young people through the Chance to Shine Scholarship program.
What can the funds be used for?
The scholarship can help cover the costs of essential items used for learning. This can include but is not limited to the following:
- school uniforms
- textbooks and resources
- technology such as iPads, iPhones or laptops
- transport costs
- tutoring costs
- school excursions
- sporting equipment
- performing arts lessons or classes
- cultural participation
Applicants must be aged 5-18 years, enrolled in school/education, currently supported by an OzChild program and experiencing financial disadvantage impacting education or participation in artistic, sporting, cultural or community activities.
