Chance to Shine Scholarship
Practical support for children and young people aged 5–18 who are supported through OzChild programs.
Every child deserves the chance to learn, participate and imagine their future. The Chance to Shine Scholarship helps make these opportunities possible, opening doors for children and young people to take part, build skills and feel connected.
OzChild’s Chance to Shine Scholarship provides practical support for children and young people aged 5–18 who are supported through OzChild programs. By easing financial barriers, the scholarship helps children take part in school, extracurricular and community activities that build skills, relationships and a sense of belonging.
Education and participation are fundamental rights for every child. The Chance to Shine Scholarship Program acts as a critical source of support ensuring children and young people can develop their potential and feel connected to their communities.

Why this scholarship matters
“We love having our grandkids with us, but at times we struggle to make ends meet. The help we receive from OzChild means we don’t have to worry when things feel like they are getting too much”
Who are we supporting?
In 2024/25, the program provided 251 scholarships, with an average value of $732, helping to remove financial barriers that often limit a child’s ability to fully participate in school, sport, arts, and community life.
The Chance to Shine Scholarship Program continues to create meaningful opportunities for children and young people supported by OzChild. Rising education costs continue to place pressure on families and carers. These financial barriers can limit a child or young person’s access to essential learning resources or funding required to participate in extracurricular activities.
Through targeted funding, the scholarship opens doors to education and extracurricular opportunities, supporting children and young people to stay engaged, build skills and thrive.
We can’t do this without our partners
The program is generously supported by philanthropic partners who share our belief that every child deserves the chance to shine. Thank you to the funders of our Chance to Shine Scholarship Program:
