The 2026 National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day theme is Living Our Truth, honouring the power of truth-telling, the sharing of knowledge across generations and the importance of telling our stories.
This year the theme for NAIDOC Week, celebrated from 5 to 12 July 2026, is “50 Years of Deadly.”
National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn, reflect and take meaningful steps towards reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
For many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, this is not simply history. It is living memory, ongoing grief, and intergenerational trauma that continues to shape families and communities today.
