Our work
Time to Shine
Time to Shine supports secondary school students who are at risk of disengagement from school due to issues relating to self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, relationship skills, and responsible decision making.
Run in conjunction with the Faculty of Education at Monash University, Time to Shine has been designed for secondary school students aged between 13 and 15.
The nine-week program operates within a Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) framework with the aim of increasing student’s resilience and offers weekly sessions at school within school hours. It comprises six topics followed by an activity linked to each one.
The program is run by higher degree interns (HDI’s) in the Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology at Monash University who assist with program content, delivery and evaluation.
First piloted in 2016, Time to Shine has run in six secondary schools across metropolitan Melbourne.
