Strengthening Families

Strengthening Families provides support to children and families living in the Bayside Peninsula area.

Strengthening Families is OzChild’s early intervention program, supporting families to build on their strengths, enhance parenting capacity and create safe, stable home environments for children.

We work alongside families experiencing challenges to improve wellbeing, strengthen relationships and reduce risks before they escalate. Our practitioners provide flexible, tailored support that responds to each family’s needs, helping them develop the skills and confidence to navigate change and maintain positive outcomes over time.

Strengthening Families is part of the Victorian Government’s reformed Family Services system, delivering responsive support for families with emerging or moderate needs.

Who are we supporting?

Strengthening Families provides support to children and families where there is a need for family support focusing on the development of parent/child relationships, improving parenting skills, developing routines, and linking families to other local services like health, housing or families are referred via the Orange Door and sessions are conducted weekly within the family home.

How are services delivered?

Strengthening Families requires a combination of in-home intensive therapeutic services and case management to assist in the development of the parent/child relationship and the resolution of entrenched issues impacting on the capacity to parent.
