Families Together

Families Together is a voluntary, evidence-informed program delivered by OzChild, supporting families to keep children safe at home and prevent unnecessary entry into out-of-home care.

Families Together is a voluntary, evidence-informed program delivered by OzChild in South West Sydney and the Hunter–Newcastle region of NSW. It supports families to keep children safe at home and prevent unnecessary entry into out-of-home care.

Working alongside families, the program builds on strengths, addresses challenges, and helps create safe, nurturing and stable environments for children and young people.

Objectives

Keep children safe at home with their families
Prevent removal and placement in out-of-home care
Support families to achieve better health, wellbeing, and educational outcomes
Build family strengths and resilience through tailored support

Eligibility

Families Together is available to:

Families with a child or young person (0–17 years) living at home
Families where a child is suspected to be at risk of significant harm (ROSH) as defined by the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998
Families experiencing challenges such as mental health issues, domestic and family violence, or problematic drug and alcohol use
