VALERIE MAY HOUSE
OzChild offers many services to support families of children with disabilities, including our Valerie May House in Cranbourne.
Valerie May House is a purpose built five bed home in Cranbourne in the South East of Melbourne offering planned access for families requiring short term, overnight respite care for children with diagnosed disabilities aged 6 to 17 years. Our dedicated staff focus on ensuring a safe, fun and stimulating environment to support the unique needs of each individual child.
In-house activities include a large outdoor play area with a sensory garden, water wall, outdoor play equipment, art and craft materials, books, music and movies that children and young people enjoy.
Valerie May House also provide group outings to parks, fetes, zoos, beaches, museums and the cinema.
“Community access is an important part of our program,” Valerie May House staff Samantha Bailey says.
We provide specialised transport options enabling children and young people to access a range of community based activities like day trips to the beach or picnics in the park as well as and many other specific activities to enliven your child’s respite experience. Taking our young people on outings is vital to their wellbeing; they can look forward to getting active and being a part of the wider community.
