MST CAN Therapist - Shepparton

Shepparton, VIC $115,000 - $140,000 / Year FP - Full-time Permanent

MST-CAN® Therapist – Goulburn

This is more than a therapy role — it’s an opportunity to change lives, strengthen families, and help keep children safely at home.

OzChild is excited to launch a new Restoring Families MST-CAN® team in Goulburn, and we are looking for passionate, committed therapists who want to make a real difference in their community.

MST-CAN® is an internationally recognised, evidence-based program supporting families experiencing significant challenges, including abuse and neglect concerns. Working alongside families in their homes and communities, you will help create meaningful, lasting change for children and young people.

About the Role

As an MST-CAN® Therapist, you will:

  • Deliver intensive therapeutic support to children, young people, and families
  • Experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy including trauma treatment
  • Work collaboratively with Child Protection and local community services
  • Use evidence-based approaches including family systems and CBT interventions
  • Manage a caseload with strong clinical support and supervision
  • The role requires flexibility to participate in a roster that supports service delivery requirements. Rostered hours and on-call responsibilities are shared across the team and provided in advance, On-call responsibility is by phone only

About You

You are someone who believes families can change and children deserve the opportunity to thrive safely at home.

You will bring:

  • A degree qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is essential. A master’s qualification is highly regarded. Applicants with relevant experience, equivalent qualifications, and demonstrated clinical capability will also be considered
  • Experience supporting vulnerable children, young people, and families
  • Strong therapeutic, assessment, and risk management skills
  • Knowledge of trauma, family systems/therapy, CBT, and child protection practice
  • A commitment to culturally safe, evidence-based practice

What We Offer

  • SCHADS Level 6.1  $ 110,102.72 (negotiable upon exp) + super + salary packaging $15,900 plus $2650 meals & entertainment
  • Full time permanent
  • Car allowance $ 15,000
  • On call allowance $ 5000

Become a Foster Carer  

There is a huge need for more foster carers in VIC. We’re looking for people from all walks of life to care for a child (aged 0-17) for a few weeks, a few months or long-term. Click here if you’re interested in learning what is involved in becoming a foster carer.
