Give the gift of joy to some of Australia’s most vulnerable children.
Christmas is usually a time of excitement and joy for children. But every year hundreds of local children face a Christmas about as far from what you’d want for your own child as you can possibly imagine.
But you can help change this and give them the joy every child deserves this Christmas by buying a present for the OzChild Christmas Wishing Tree.
Buy a gift to brighten a child’s Christmas morning.
Every year OzChild collaborates with local schools, businesses, clubs and individuals to collect Christmas gifts for children in need. Buying a gift to brighten a child’s Christmas morning is one way to give them a break, to help them feel valued, loved and safe.
We collect presents for the following children in our care:
- Children in our foster and kinship care programs
- Children from our low-income families
- Struggling families supported by our programs
How to get involved
The cut-off date for requesting gift tags for this year has passed but you can still get involved by purchasing a gift online.
Buy a gift online
Brightening a child’s Christmas could not be simpler! Visit our Simply Giving website to purchase a gift online for a child in need and give them a Christmas to remember. Choose from hundreds of toys which will then be distributed to the children and families in our care.
How it works
1. Purchase a gift
Purchase a gift for the child or family described on the gift tag. Leave the gift unwrapped or in clear wrapping (with the tag attached).
2. Pickup or delivery?
Gifts can either be collected by our volunteers or delivered directly to our sites. This year’s pick-up dates are December 7 and December 10.
Christmas food hampers
Many families often find it a struggle to make ends meet, especially during the Festive season. That’s why we’re expanding our Wishing Tree Appeal to include Christmas food hampers. If you can buy a couple of extra items every time you do a grocery shop to put together a food hamper, you will be helping bring to joy of Christmas to families in need.
