University of Melbourne students make and donate toys to kids in care

Volunteer-oriented student club Youth Charity Society at The University of Melbourne aim to encourage fellow students to get involved with fundraising and volunteering.

Along with another campus group CastOn Charity, Youth Charity Society held a stuffed-toy knitting event. They hoped they would be able to bring smiles to kids faces.

The handmade toys also came with supportive messages for kids in care.

Darren Suryawijaya, Internal Volunteering Team Assistant Manager, contacted OzChild as the Society wanted to donate soft toys to our kids who require moral support.

The toys were presented to Genevieve Meyer, OzChild Ambassador and carer, at the volunteering information night at the university. Thank you Youth Charity Society and Cast On Charity for your generosity and thinking of OzChild’s kids.
