Volunteer - Family Support

Trained volunteers can provide various supports to families, care givers, children and young people, such as:

  • emotional support
  • some transport to essential appointments
  • child care to care givers
  • mentoring to a child or young person
  • support to a child attending an  Early Childhood Centre
  • supporting parenting strategies
  • linking to wider community supports
  • assistance with household routines
  • some practical supports
  • any other supports deemed appropriate by the Volunteer Coordinator

To join you need

  • no specific qualifications
  • to offer between 2 to 4 hours per week of support
  • to be committed and reliable
  • to be over 18 years of age
  • to be willing to undertake assessment including police checks and working with children checks
  • to be able to work within a large team
