As a volunteer kindergarten support worker you will help out in the kindergarten classroom. The position can be lots of fun and very rewarding.

As Kindergarten Support Volunteer you will help out in the Kindergarten classroom. You might be asked to support one or two children, but also keep an eye out to see wherever a hand might be needed. You can make the difference of a child having a successful first experience of the education environment. With so many children having trouble with concentrating these days, having an extra adult in the Kindergarten room can help ensure better comprehension and participation for all children.

This position can be a lot of fun and very rewarding. The Kindergarten teachers are great to work with and the children are delightful. If you have ever wondered about working in this field, this is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in it and see if it really is for you. Two 1/2 days of training provided, ongoing training & professional development provided through out the year.

May be suitable for someone doing Certificate III in Children's Services as part of placement hours.

Skills required

• The ability to see things from someone else's point of view
• Enjoyment in working with children

• A basic understanding of the Pre school setting
• An ability to follow instructions and guidance
• Empathic and non-judgemental viewpoint
• A willingness to have fun and laugh

Requirements

• Easy access to volunteering area
• Driver's license preferred, but not essential
• Self-motivated and an ability to work unsupervised, but within program guidelines
• Working with Children Check card
• 100 points of ID for National Criminal Check (Police Check)
