Would you like to look after a child aged between 0-18 years for a weekend, a few days, a few months or longer? Do you work, but still have time and energy to care for a child? Do you live in the any of the following council areas, City of Dandenong, Casey, Cardinia, Kingston, Bayside, Frankston or the Mornington Peninsula?

Caring involves having a child in your home overnight for either a short period of time or full time.

Would you like to look after a child aged between 0-18 years for a weekend, a few days, a few months or longer? Do you work, but still have time and energy to care for a child? Do you live in the any of the following council areas, City of Dandenong, Casey, Cardinia, Kingston, Bayside, Frankston or the Mornington Peninsula?

Children come into care for numerous reasons and with different needs. Therefore, we need people from various backgrounds and different family lifestyles to look after them.

We provide all carers with thorough training and ongoing support. All carers must complete a health check, referee check, home environment check, Police Check and Working with Children Check.

Respite care

Carers provide regular respite in their home either one or two weekends a month. Reimbursement is provided.

Short term care

Carers provide emergency/short term care for children with high support needs for up to six months while the child's birth family is unable to care for them. Reimbursement provided.

Shared care

Carers from two families provide full time care for a child with a disability between them. These arrangements are made to suit the families and may involve having a child for four days on, four days off. Shared care arrangements may be up to a week on at a time and are long term. Reimbursement is provided.

Full time care

Carers provide alternative family care for children with a disability who can no longer remain with their families. Volunteer caregivers provide long term, full time care for children in their home. Many of our children will attend school during the day. Generous reimbursements are provided and carers will also receive regular respite.
