Does OzChild offer student placements in the Volunteer Family Services Program?

OzChild does accept limited student placements in the social work and welfare field. Please discuss suitable placement options with the appropriate contact at your tertiary institution before submitting a placement enquiry.

If accepting placements, OzChild has the following Key Criteria for student placements:

Students must be studying a Social Work or welfare qualification.

• For students completing Certificate 3 and Certificate 4 of Community Development (or similar) opportunities may be available for placement within our volunteer program.
• Students are matched with a family or child for 4 hours per fortnight but are required to commit to a 12 month period within our Volunteer Family Services Program.
• Each program area will have more specific criteria based on program requirements, so please enquire with the program.

Location

Placements are offered at Frankston and Cardinia. Convenience of travel for students under their own arrangements, to and from these sites should be taken into consideration when seeking a placement.
