OzChild's First Aid training courses are for everyone

They focus on the simple, practical and easy to remember skills needed to respond to first aid emergencies- after all, people want to learn simple first aid that can be remembered and applied when it is really needed.

If your organisation, school, childcare, kindergarten or workplace makes a group booking, we can tailor a first aid training course to suit your particular requirements.

HLTFA301B Apply First Aid - Level 2

Course Description
This program provides participants with the essential skills and knowledge required to manage life threatening emergencies until professional medical help arrives. This course is level 2 equivalent and is valid for 3-years (CPR component valid 12-months).

Entry Requirements
There are no pre-requisites however it is recommended that participants have literacy competencies equivalent to Level 2 as described in the Certificates of General Education for Adults (2112AFL, 2212AKC, 2212ALC).

To make a booking by mail, print out the form below and return via post along with payment. OzChild, will contact you via phone to confirm your place. EFTPOS facilities are available.

Nominal Duration
15 hours

Qualification
It is important that you attend each session of this course so that you are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.

Your certificate will be valid for 3 years and the Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that you attend a resuscitation update every 12 months.

Competencies to be achieved during the training
At the successful completion of this course you will be able to:

  1. Assess the emergency situation
  2. Apply first aid procedures
  3. Communicate details of the incident
  4. Evaluate own performance

Assessment Procedure
You will be assessed at the end of the course and be required to demonstrate that you have an appropriate understanding of the procedures necessary to manage a life-threatening situation.

This will consist of

  1. Theory Assessment
  2. Practical Demonstrations
  3. You must prove your competency for each section to qualify for a certificate.

Facilities & Equipment
Each participant will be provided with all of the resources required to study all units. Each program will also be supported with adequate Teaching Aids to assist with the theory and practical training modules such as CPR manikins, bandages, visual aids, handouts etc. as appropriate.
