The OzChild Education Service supports schools and their communities and provides educational employment opportunities to qualified professional welfare staff and allied health professionals.
The OzChild Education Service as part of Outreach works in schools across the State to provide a recruitment service to find qualified welfare staff including psychologists, speech pathologists and social workers. OzChild has been providing these services to schools and networks of schools in all educational sectors including government, Catholic and independent, at both primary and secondary levels, since 1996. We are also able to provide services to other non school, corporate and community organisations. The Education Service provides both salaried and contract staff to schools for a variety of reasons including leave vacancies, to develop or run programs or to support or train staff. We are also able to provide speech pathologists to run our highly successful Lift Off with Language program - an innovative early intervention program to promote phonemic awareness in Prep and early grade students. Lift Off With Language can be tailored to meet the needs of individual schools and is currently being run in several schools in metropolitan Melbourne.
The Education Service maintains a pool of suitable candidates to be placed in positions at short notice or to complete assessments. We will advertise if need be and our priority is to find the right professional for the job. Our recruitment process includes the screening of applicants, interviewing and reference checking, Police Checks and Working With Children Checks. Staff provided to schools are employed directly through OzChild either as salaried or contractor employees - this makes it easy for schools, as we take the responsibility for appointment, induction, human resources, payroll, financial management, and quality control. By providing the recruitment service to schools we are at the same time providing a service to qualified welfare professionals by finding them suitable employment in interesting and varied educational roles. We offer friendly team support, resources and mentoring as required. Professional services and projects are contracted on a cost recovery basis only. Find out about employment opportunities. OzChild Education Seek and Place serviceOzChild will also recruit an employee to be placed on your own payroll. A fee will be charged for this service. To discuss possibilities, needs, service design and costings please contact our Education service. The Education service mission is to enhance the life opportunities for children and young people by supporting the work of schools through our recruitment and support services available to all members of the school community: students, teachers, leadership teams, parents and families.
