This service is available to kinship families who are currently involved in the Child Protection system and have a statutory order in place. The Placement and Support service receives referrals from Child Protection only.

The Placement and Support service has been operating for a number of years and provides specialised support to the most vulnerable of kinship families.

What does the Placement and Support service offer?

• Support during the first six months of the statutory placement
• Assistance to kinship carers and extended family members to become self-managing and less dependent on ongoing professional involvement
• Case management & support for some cases requiring longer term support
