Become a mentor

Support is also sought for 100 mentors to enable this program to run. To be a mentor you must:

• be in a senior management position and possess leadership or entrepreneurial skills
• work for one of the specified industries and be able to provide applied learning opportunities within your organisation
• be in a position to commit to the six month program
• undergo Police and Working With Children Checks and provide work experience approval.

About the Together We Shine mentoring program

This program aims to provide career opportunities and growth to young people who have leadership potential and entrepeneurial abilities, but currently have no opportunities to develop their potential.

The program will provide high levels of individualised support for each young person through structured work experience and mentoring.

The six month Applied Learning and Mentoring pilot program in May 2009 matched 15 leading business people, in a range of different industries, with 15 young people.
