Andrew Thomas is a passionate and highly motivated entrepreneur who started his first company, Thomas Duryea, when he was just 23 years old. Now at 33, Andrew heads up the company he founded with three friends, which has grown to become one of Australia's largest privately owned IT infrastructure services companies. With a turnover of more than $40 million, the company under his stewardship is on track to double its sales in the next 3 years. Ranked in the top 10 of the BRW Fast 100, Thomas Duryea employs more than 100 people and has offices in Sydney and Melbourne. The company has won many awards including the BRW ANZ Private Business Award (2009) for companies with a turnover of less than $100 million, Symantec Growth Partner of the Year (2009), Deloitte Fast 50 Asia Pacific (reaching second place), and the Rising Star award for Ingram Micro to name a few. Andrew is actively involved in the Australian IT industry outside of Thomas Duryea, is the founder of a successful executive search firm, and sits on various advisory councils. As well as being an Ambassador for OzChild, Andrew is dedicated to causes such as Vinnies CEO Sleepout, which raises money for the 105,000 homeless Australians, and the Ride for MS, which raises much needed funds and awareness for MS sufferers and their carers. Andrew has a passionate commitment to help underprivilegedf children. For every dollar employees donate to Thomas Duryea's cause of choice, the company matches it, ensuring that this caring culture filters throughout all companies Andrew is involved with. He is also an adrenaline junkie having run the Melbourne Marathon, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, crossed the Simpson Desert by dirt bike and trekked both the Andes and the Himalayas. |
