Shane Delia, owner and chef of Melbourne's much awarded Maha Bar & Grill has been an advocate of OzChild since 2002. Following on from his apprenticeship at the Hotel Sofitel, Shane spent his formative years training in classical French cuisine. At 22 Shane was appointed as Executive Chef at Chateau Yering in the Yarra Valley, known locally and internationally as one of Victoria's best regional hotels. He opened Maha Bar & Grill in February 2008.
Growing up in a large Maltese family, Shane places the utmost importance on family and family support. Recently starting his own family with wife Maha, together they welcomed their first daughter Jayda Guitta Delia into the world in early 2009. After being a passionate supporter of OzChild for many years, Shane was proud to be made an Ambassador for OzChild in 2009, and strives to use his restaurant and media profile to promote awareness for the organisation.
