OzChild: Children Australia Inc is:

  • a registered not-for-profit children's welfare agency, incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 1981
  • endorsed as a deductible gift recipient, assessed as a public benevolent institution, by the Australian Taxation Office, in accordance with the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 and registered by the Australian Business Registrar
  • registered with the Australian Tax Office Goods and Services Tax (GST). ABN 90 680 959 928.

Around 40% of our funding comes from our investment portfolio, fundraising, donors, philanthropic trusts and our corporate supporters. The rest is from different levels of government. Approximately 15% of the OzChild investment portfolio goes towards the administration and infrastructure costs of the organisation. Importantly, this means that all donations that are received go directly towards programming and is not used for the running of the organisation.  

Our goal is to increase the proportion of independent funds we receive to ensure that we can add value to our existing services beyond that provided by government funding to protect our independence. We also need to increase our discretionary funds so that we can continue to be at the forefront of program developement in response to emerging children's needs. Finally, we want to grow OzChild so that more children can benefit from our service.
