Recruiting psychologists, speech pathologists and social workers on your behalf

OzChild Education Service works in schools across the Victoria to provide a recruitment service to find qualified welfare staff including psychologists, speech pathologists and social workers.

OzChild provides these services to schools and networks of schools in all educational sectors including government, Catholic and independent at both primary and secondary levels. We are also able to provide services to other non school and community organisations.

Education Services provides both salaried and contract staff to schools for a variety of reasons including leave vacancies, to develop or run programs or to support or train staff. We are also able to provide speech pathologists to run our highly successful Lift Off With Language program – an innovative early intervention program to promote phonemic awareness in prep and early grade students.

We also provide psychological, educational and speech pathology assessments to support students experiencing difficulties at school. Our consultants are well versed in the specific assessments required to support disability applications for DEECD, Catholic education and independent schools.

We maintain a pool of suitable candidates to be placed in positions at short notice or to complete assessments. We will advertise if need be and our priority is to find the right professional for the job. Our recruitment process includes the screening of applicants, interviewing and reference checking, police checks and working with children checks. Staff provided to schools are employed directly through OzChild either as salaried or contractor employees . We are also able to recruit an employee to be placed on your own payroll. A fee will be charged for this service. To discuss possibilities, needs, service design and cost, please contact our Education service.

By providing the recruitment service to schools, we are at the same time providing a service to qualified welfare professionals by finding them suitable employment in interesting and varied educational roles. We offer friendly team support, resources and mentoring as required.

Our mission is to enhance the life opportunities for children and young people by supporting the work of schools through our recruitment and support services available to all members of the school community: students, teachers, leadership teams, parents and families.
