Disability Camps - OzChild

Camps for Children with Disabilities

OzChild runs recreational camps for children and young people, helping enrich the lives of people with disabilities.

Our camps run during school holiday periods for children and young people with a disability aged 6-25 years. These activities are tailored to suit individual needs, and clients are matched with other clients that are of a similar age and ability.

Camps have previously been held at he Briars Camp in Mount Martha, Urban Camp in Parkville and Camp Manyung in Mount Eliza.

Camps are designed to encourage clients to develop friendships with other children and young people, building resilience and self-confidence. Some of the activities that clients often participate in on camps include rope courses, giant swings and team building activities including raft building. Other camp activities are designed for attendees to have fun and make friendships, such as discos, movie nights and excursions to community activities and events.

We also run Koorie Camps for Aboriginal children and young people with disabilities. Read more on our Indigenous Services page
